1080p query

I have a sony Bravia tv. My ps3 and Panasonic blu ray player can both play on it at 1080p. The blu ray player can do the 24 frame playback.
The Tivo box says 1080p not supported by my telly, and my telly gives me an unsupported signal message.
What's going on? I'm sure I got 1080p on my Tivo when I first set it up?

Re: 1080p query

There's a 1080p option on the tivo settings for output. I'm just curious, or is it a legacy from the original usa firmware?

It's more just that it's there, but it won't make any difference because as above, all channels are 1080i, so really you won't see a difference between p or i

I believe that the option is there for "future" use, in terms that it says in the settings 1080p is supported on the TiVo if there is source material in 1080p. As stated above all TV that is transmitted in the UK are at the moment 1080i - so one day when we move to transmissions of 1080p I assume that it will be displayed as such, though at the rate things are moving in this field we will be on at least the 2nd revision of the TiVo box - if not something different all together!

Hope that makes sense??
