Banksy artwork taken in north London withdrawn from sale

Why do i get the feeling that Poundland had something to do with this ?

A Banksy artwork which was taken from a London street and had been listed for auction in the US has been withdrawn from sale, the BBC has learned.

"We take a lot of care with our consignors, who they are, what they do, and if there's any illegality we will not touch it. Everything is checked out 150%."

A solicitor for property firm Wood Green Investments, which owns the Poundland site where the Banksy was painted, told the Financial Times: "If they deny removing the mural they will become embroiled in an international criminal investigation that has already involved the FBI, but if they admit to consenting to (its removal) then they will become the target of abuse.

"As a consequence, the advice to my client has been to say nothing."

Re: Banksy artwork taken in north London withdrawn from sale

been reading up on this crazy.

Dont trust anyone in this it maybe poundland as they the ones keeping quiet. It easily still could be the council or the owner instructing it. Even though later are both making noises.

Why this the auctioneers was so adamant it was legit sale. I suppose they can make errors though.

In that pic see on right think banksy been back done a Rat

Doubtful if poundland owned the store.. Looking on Google's streetview the whole building is a single developer including the flats above it.

[edit] I really should learn to read the previous posts.. as that's already confirmed

more look into this poundland owned by US equity firm

http://www.adventinternational.com/i...d_English.aspx

Though we cant say that proves poundland guilty it does make things interesting who actually owns poundland. Certainly would have the links means get it to USA.
