Mascot of 'Heart attack grill' dies
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013...ll-mascot-dies
Quote:
The mascot for the Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas has died of a heart attack. He was the second unpaid mascot to die in the past two years.
The diner is famous for its huge hamburgers, extra-fat milkshakes and fries cooked in lard. It uses the tagline: "Taste worth dying for."

Quote:
The Heart Attack Grill menu consists of four burger varieties based on number of half-pound patties: the "Single Bypass Burger," the "Double Bypass Burger," the "Triple Bypass Burger," and the "Quadruple Bypass Burger." Each of the burgers can be augmented with "unadulterated" (not drained of the grease from cooking fat) bacon slices in quantities of five slices per patty, or 5 slices of bacon on the Single Bypass, ten slices on the Double Bypass, 15 slices on the Triple Bypass, and 20 slices of bacon on the Quadruple Bypass Burger. All burgers are served, per patty, with a slice of American cheese, red onion, sliced tomato, and Heart Attack Grill's own unique special sauce.
The only available side item is "Flatliner Fries," fresh French-cut potatoes deep fried in pure lard. Heart Attack Grill also offers "Butter-fat Shakes" in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry flavors. This high calorie shake is so named because it is made from butter fat cream. Various packaged candies are also available as dessert items, most notably the controversial candy cigarette.

Given that sales of assault weapons in the US appear to have soared since the massacre of primary school children and hundreds of teachers in Texas are being trained to shoot, I reckon this place will probably see queues of eager punters just waiting to secure their place in the ultimate hall of fame.

Very surprised if it was not - seem to recall something along these lines at any rate.

Large chips cooked in lard( as long as cooked at the right temp) most likely contain less fat than chip shop chips ( the oil is never hot enough so it soaks into the chip instead of sealing it) or thin cut fries cooked in oil

In fairness anyone can be susceptible to heart attacks. I've known of super-fit runners who have had them.

Yep that's true, the food had nothing to do with it in the same way guns had nothing to do with the massacres.

That's not the point Russ is making. The point that Russ is making is that if you have a genetic disposition towards heart attacks, you can still have one regardless of what you eat.

Still eating every day at a place called 'Heart Attack Grill' with pure cream milkshakes and 9,000 calorie burgers doesn't help.

On the other hand, if people spent more of their time eating and becoming morbidly obese they spend less of their time shooting.

Cheers Stuart I and legions of others out there wouldn't have know that without yours and Russ' Stirling efforts, although in this case I'm prepared to bet his disposition for the menu trumped anything genetics had to offer.
