Ford 'to cut 1,300 car jobs.

Car maker Ford is to close two UK plants with the loss of at least 1,300 jobs, the BBC understands.

Not good news is it.

Re: Ford 'to cut 1,300 car jobs.

It's sad for southhampton and dagenham but i think it was inevitable and not a great shock for the workers .Ford is re structuring across europe with a lot of the assembly and manufacturing going to russia where wages are a lot cheaper.

The other thing to concider is the competition from mercedes sprinter

Quote:
John Denham, Labour MP for Southampton Itchen, said workers had been "let down".
He said: "For years the Southampton-built Transit has been the workhorse of British business. White van man drives a Transit.
A heads up for John Denham ,white van man doesn't drive a transit ,he drives a sprinter and has done for years .Builders use transits and since the building industry is in the toilet then the vans are not needed

Not good news is it.
It's a sad for the whole sector but it was going happen at some point....
it's all part of a big global agenda, just as it says in Agenda 21 (UN release). For the short version; use taxes * costs to drive up the costs in the western countries, then companies move their production to the 3rd world countries (banks own them - IMF) where it's cheaper + where they can ignore most environmental laws where in the west they have to follow driving up costs; so less for the share hold & CEO of the company.

Why do you think there pushing all this Carbon Tax, or tax on everything ...... to line the global banker's pockets + to take most wealth in most western countries into the small few pockets who control the 3rd world countries.
It all started right back in the 60's for the uk, the writing was on the wall then but people choose to ignore at there own loss starting with closure of the small sized cottage industry of many types -Beeching report then small coal pits etc It's all in history on how we got to the point we are now.

Most people in the UK blame the government at the time but there bigger forces at working behind the scenes Eg: financing to move else where just like US government gave to GM to move to South China. They name this plan a future improvement/development plan, tell you there's funding; this amount to increase the number of jobs here & there but it really means most is going direct to the company to move their place of operation to some where cheaper in 5 years time with tax payers money then people are shocked when the company shutting up shop, only to move else where...... I say wake up, smell the coffee - there no such thing as a free lunch any more with government finance they own you after taking it.

Anyone can blame any party they like in any year, but the simple answer their all the SAME, do the same thing, make the same pefect mistakes etc.
Who ever you voted for don't even bother again till the whole system is changed to more open one that's my main point why bother if you going to have a different party singing off the same hymn sheet as the last one?

Tories + Labour + Libs = corrupt governments/leaders

I'd say more corrupt than police officer you see walking down a street....
I just wish more people wake up than follow the masses like flock of sheep then complain after they voted them in..... any sense at all; none that I've seen so far.

Sorry if I've gone away from the topic here...

Say as much you want; all I say has been released for public viewing + agenda 21 is very real - google it for yourself. Be ad-where of the bigger plan out there hugh not just small one in your area. Big change is coming sooner than you think, you can rest back + wait for it to come plus suffer or know about it now & ready yourself for the future unrest that coming - it up to you Hugh.

It's part of larger pattern of the great model of life martyh - it happens over & over again in many different parts.... I picked on the de-industrialisation of the west relocating into the east where it's all controlled by the small few + lax rules. So all I'm saying that the powers that be do this to control all of our lifes from the consumer product angle > manufacture of cars (location); if you control where & who does just like ford in UK (transit van) moving over to a cheaper place of manufacture. This is all covered in "agenda 21" report from the UN, it covers how you put all this in place plus more; the report & it's add-on report/projects act like a guide book on how you do it putting the subject aside.....

De-industrialisation, in Uk is near all but finished with large employers like ford, what left is small firms that are now getting stuck up with all this carbon tax may be it under a differ guise in form of energy price/material costs rises.

That's what happened to this ford plant making transit vans the price got too high due to stealth taxes + total cost like any other company with share holders, they move to cheaper places, another reason to question every government handout to big business. It doesn't work long term sorry to say only short term in hine sight.
