Almost not internet for 4 weeks

At the end of August I had problems with my connection. I couldn't access the web or when I did it took ages for pages to load up if at all, strangely all during this non HTTP, HTTPS traffic was working fine. I tried a different computer and different cat 5 cable all with the same results. I rebooted the modem but still had issues. As I was going away for 2 weeks I left it assuming VM would fix the issue while I was away.

I came back with the same issue so phoned VM for said there was a fault in my area and it would be fixed the next day at midday. It wasn't but as I was going away again for a week I left it.#

I'm back again now and into the fourth week. While I was away I had an answer phone message from VM trying to arrange a visit from their freephone number that you can't ring back ok. Phoned CS who knew nothing but said the issue would be fixed today. I've checkedd the VM status page and that doesn't show a fault for my area.

My cable modem keeps rebooting all the time and sometimes I get a proper IP and at other times i'm stuck on a 192.168.xx.xx IP and can't access anything. I've not even been able to load a web page and when I have a proper VM id if i ping their default gateway or DNS servers I get dropped packets and time outs all over the shop.

I'm based in Bromley so being close to where they are should be ok and after 4 weeks i'm getting frustrated. Anyone know of any issues or what I can do to fix this.

Ask them to send a Tech, its free and he will probably fix it in no time at all

Re: Almost not internet for 4 weeks

Your best bet is to speak to thinking of leaving us (option 5). They will connect you with a UK agent who will probably arrange for an engineer to call.

If you carry on with the overseas support it would seem they prefer to fob you off or send you a new superhub. I expect they probably lose brownie points for booking an engineer, if they do you usually get an SMS cancelling the visit.

It's just terrible support.

Re: Almost not internet for 4 weeks

managed to get an engineer booked who replaced my old modem with a suberhub and it's now working fine.

Just shows the rubbish they fed me about a fault in my area though
