Now that would be good

Looking at Virgin help & support forum.
Someone was complaining that the USB port was disabled.
That working would be to me a great step forward. So clearly its not going to happen

Re: Now that would be good

No it isn't. They're wrong.

However, it might only work for certain things; like USB keyboards and the Tivo Keyboard Remote Control and not things like transferring video, etc.

Re: Now that would be good

On Sky it seems to be random wether or not the USB ports on the boxes are powered. I have 3 boxes of which 2 have powered USB ports.

Theyre really useful as I have stripped down 2 Ethernet - wifi bridges and connected them internally to the Sky boxes USB port so the entire bridge is inside the Sky+HD box, save connecting to Ethernet for anytime+ an for when planner sharing is activated.

Also it looks nice an tidy with the wifi now inside the box.

But how do you fix the box to your Bike & how do you get away with having a TV on it. Is not the picture shaky

I imagine any keyboard would be infrared like the old Telewest active digital keyboard

The USB ports will just be to charge a mobile phone

Re: Now that would be good

We use them to charge our 3D specs. They are disabled for any kind of data transfer ( ipod etc.). They do provide 5v to charge devices. If you buy the US qwerty remote which is bluetooth that will work with a bluetooth dongle plugged into the Tivo.
