Internet radio cutting out

I use my ipod touch and iphone 4 in speaker docks but find that streaming radio tends to cut off quite frequently (Mainly with the bbc stations) I use the Tunein app and somtimes the live stream via the bbc iplayer app but both cut in and out which is very anoying,

Has anyone found a solution to this? I even bought a Netgear WN3000RP Universal WiFi Range Extender to try and boost the wifi signal around the house but it still cuts out and buffers even though the signal on the ipod shows at full 3 bars!

Is this a wifi problem or are the bbc streams just not reliable?

Re: Internet radio cutting out

it is defo a wi-fi problem with a little bit of iplayer as well. Wireless on the shub is notoriously bad (even if it does say you have an excellent signal) and bbc iplayer has know issues with the shub as well.

I hate to say it dude (not really), but the best bit of advice I can give you to make your life less stressful for the many years to come is it to put the shub in modem mode and buy a proper router which works.

Re: Internet radio cutting out

I thought as much cheers for the reply m8,

I'll return the netgear extender and buy the "TP-Link TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router" instead,

Do you think that router will be a big improvement connected to the superhub in modem mode?

Re: Internet radio cutting out

if you have money to spend then future proof yourself with either a Linksys highend router or an Asus highend router
