100M : Find CMTS or UBR ip

Hi,

I was wondering how do i find out the IP address of the UBR or CMTS so i can setup a ping monitor :s, i thought it was the second hop after my router, but im unsure now.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks for shared infos...if i understand well is the first but the monitor is full of yellow with some jitter...is this correct and how should be?

You can find your CMTS from a reverse trace route.

all the uBR/CMTS connect to a GEAM
then saying old ubr will not show at trace route

sorry been so thick but here my confusion: is the camd-geam or the harri core?
I guess is the camd?? but why say my pc with 0.0.0.0

My set up is SH(modem mode)>draytek 2920n

ok i monitored first the camd-gem and monitor was full of yellow latency little blue jitter and low green
then with this tool http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html .... i find the camd-cmts
i am monitor now this cmts and is just very little green(seems like ping is around 2 ms)

which the correct one?guessing the camd-cmts?

I tried that tool and it shows me nothing :\ as it always gives me different results before my IP D:

its a reverse trace route tool

look down at the end of the trace 9-10 or 11
example with mine:

should be one saying the first 3-4 letters of your area then cmts
i think that is the one and to me it change each time the address but i put one of these adddresses in the monitor and seems it is the one (my monitor up)

Oh yes, the ex-ntl architecture is slightly different. While on Ex-Telewest pretty much everywhere all the uBR/CMTS connect to a GEAM on ex-ntl the older uBRs which house the 10Mb and occasionally some 20Mb customers are connected to Cable Access Modules, cams, which then go off to cores. The DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS which serve 100Mb, 50Mb and 30Mb along with some of the 20Mb and occasionally 10Mb customers connect directly to a core. With ex-Telewest any site that has a CMTS/uBR will have a GEAM at the same physical site to connect to, with ex-ntl these devices connect to a switch at the local site which doesn't show up in traceroutes then go off to a PoP / headend where they go onto cams or cores.
