Superhub : super hub/network

hi can anyone please help me i have just upgraded to the super hub from my ol vm modem now this is the problem i have 2 fixed wired desktop computers 3 wireless access points and a nas all of them connected to to old modem via network switches and a router now all of these have been working and running on my network without any trouble what so ever now when i put the super hub in and used the gigabite connectors 1 for router 2 for my wired desktops everything was aok untill i tried to connect to my nas drives then woooe no nas drives the only way i could connect to them was to unplug computers from the hub reconnect them to the router and presto they are there once again? now has anyone got any idea as to what this problem is

Most people just put the superhub into modem mode, and connect their own router to LAN port #1. Have you considered doing that to minimise changes to your network topology?

The shub is a router as well and what you did was have two routers on your lan. You dont want to be using the shub as a router anyway so do as above and bang it into modem mode which means port 1 is the only port active. Connect you router to port 1 and then I would suggest connecting your wireless ap's to the router directly and only your switch, and connect the NAS and pcs to the switch so any transfers/streaming from the nas by the pcs doesnt hit the router.

thanks for the info if i set the shub to modem mode which then is 1st port and how do i set it to modem mode and if i do what efect on the shub will this have

the effect it will have on the shub is it will make it into a modem and disable it's routing functionality which is why only 1 port will be active. It is a good thing because it lets your proper router and switches do their job without any interference or complications.
