Re: Sky Dish Alert
If you move into a lot of new housing association properties you have to use the communal systems they have installed. So perhaps this is the way things will go.

Re: Sky Dish Alert
Well we know how anti-murdoch the government are at the moment
In reality it can't happen though. Especially seeing as how the governmental advice on the switchover is that some people will have to get satellite if they want to continue to receive TV post switchover.

Re: Sky Dish Alert
SKY already operate in a "dish less environment" via XBOX live and will continue this trend via their upcoming Now TV venture.
We all know how innovative SKY are. If the dishes have to go, they will simply deliver their content in a different way.

Re: Sky Dish Alert
I agree, i can see a day when you will get your SKY via 4g wifi or something, it will be cheaper to mantain and install than a big crappy sat orbitting the earth.

Re: Sky Dish Alert
Or they might just buy VM and deliver Sky via cable and expand the network. They certainly won't go down without a fight!

I know it's unlikely Den but you never know with Sky, they've got enough money to pretty much do what they like as we all know!

It's more likely they'd buy Virgin and shut it, probably offering VM customers deals to get them to move to Sky, This would be cheaper than maintaining a huge cable network that is competing against their own network in a lot of areas.
Either way, any attempt by Sky to buy Virgin would result in action being taken by the competition commission.

What a horrible thought. However even under those circumstances I'd still not buy Sky.
Anyway hopefully it would be considered too much of a monopoly..If government has any balls left.
