The tories pro business not working that well

My sisters company made 1.3billion the first 6 months of this year.
It increased dividends by 12%

My sisters department was told its losing money well doh! it doesnt sell anything, so basically the real reason wasnt given. 25% of its staff been made redundant a month before christmas, talk about scrooge from a big corp.

If a big company making billions a year is still dropping staff then its not a good sign.

Clearly they can lobby, accept tax cuts and so on, but still can stick 2 fingers up and sack as they please for profits. Softening up to businesses does not create jobs.

Re: The tories pro business not working that well

It's working well for the businesses, lots of profit being made, just the rest of us not so much as they are getting it through cutting costs not growing revenues and are sitting on cash piles rather than investing.

You didn't mention what the business was though.

nothing suprises me any more to be honest big businesses cuts so shareholders can take more cake or pay the top earners more ££££ for increasing profits at expense of jobs.

Sad thing is this why the world in mess this faceless atitude crippled world economies so much that governments cant afford to take the slack of not enough jobs. Until atitudes change the milking the cow stops world economy wont get mended but hey the parasites thing austerity against poor is the answer it aint never will. Only forcing businesses and telling shareholders you only deserve small percentage. Certainly businesses should not cut jobs to pay shareholders or bosses extreme £££ bonuses.

Problem is governments scared to hurt them scared they will take there business elsewhere. Something has to give the world cant continue in its current ways banks cant keep making funny money indefinately to ofset the milking of the cow. That why I am against austerity it wont work just create more greed. wont solve issue millions on the dole aha but cameron thinks now comunist way of paying dole for job is the way forward. Hell where does think jobs come from yep the poor souls who will lose there jobs for cheap labour.

His clueless faceless parasite who needs to wake up start seeing the issue get JOBS if it means cracking whips regulation to limit bonuses/share dividends then so be it. If businesses cant operate sensibly then lets mouthfeed them like a baby.

This happens all over the place yet faceless **** in office now having ago at low paid its there fault you dont work enough or hard enough.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisf...=FBCNETTXT9038

However fail to abmit there chums are the real **** why jobless low paid jobs are around.

The country is right hatefull place to live in at present if you not rich. They moan if you unemployed/elderly/sick now having ago that your fault you dont earn enough. People really gonna reget this faceless rich **** in power. Expect if you dont now put contributions in ALL rights will be withdrawn no nhs no sick no pension no pescriptions no welfare it includes now if you dont earn enough wages you too now been discriminated by these ****.

Re: The tories pro business not working that well

Why should a profitable company subsidise a non-profitable company, even when in the same group.

Where do people think the money for buying government(including UK) debt and providing business loans comes from.

Did not say loans they should be forced to create jobs if they got the money to do so. The origanl post shows the capatlist greed atitude.

At least be forced to justify why those jobs have to be lost. If they paying ££££ to bosses or shareholders then the jobs cut refused. Regulation if businesses dont like it then maybe they should thought about way they slammed people on the dole for there profiteering/capitalist greed.

The austerity measures only around because private sector just dumped jobs for years. Sadly governments thought by public sector employment creation this started under concervative dont forget then carried by labour. Jobs NEED to come from private sector big way it NEEDS them to change there stinking atitudes.

I would go far to say this was all engineered deliberatly cause bank crisis get governments bail then hold them to ransom force austerity which WONT cull debt. More debt to bank they hold governments look at greece banker in charge. It was fake a sham that governments fell hook line and sinker. Put thenselves in debt doing it. Would not be suprised big corporations was also involved dumping the jobs to forced governments into public sector hiring.

Now with public jobs cull we also seeing contracts pulled this causing secondry disaster as private sector loses those contracts. Do we really need to make things worse it takes brave government to stand its ground tell banks your wrong.

It dont take rocket science that austerity is very very bad for economy but very good for banks. IT WONT cut DEBT as its in the complete wrong area anyway. IT will cause MASSIVE unemployment in public but worse private sector.

Dont add to the damage hold the fort but make sure that value for money gain for £ spent. In meantime we need to generate funds in right area so spending move the economy forward. Too much money going out the country or not being spent in it. Orders down job losses do need to spell it OUT. KEEP the ECONOMY TICKING

25% is quite significant as well, from what I heard its not been thought out, the news came out of the blue. Probably a target was made for cost cuts but no plan in how the workload will be handled, and given that centrica's workload (and profit) goes up in winter, the timing is baffling as well. All upper management are protected as well from these cuts.
