100MB upgrade price and superhub info

Hi all just checked the vm site and 100mb is available in my area even though the roll out dates says its not so phoned VM to be sure agent told me yes its available now ,i asked about installion and was told its FREE then i asked about activation and was told this is also FREE ok sign me up now it was only a xtra £3 pm from 50MB to the 100MB upgrade result
so i got a install date of 4weeks time 4weeks! when ive upgraded in the past over the phone or online its been ok hold on modem reboots thats it done!

so the question is do i realy need a super hub for 100mb or can i keep me 50mb modem and they just upgrad my congif files or somthink i no how to change the modem my self surely they could even just post the new hub to me in less the 4weeks?

how do ppl rate the hub?
also thinking that there will be a hidden activation fee some where even though i was told there aint
btw im on the severn kings exchange

It might be worth checking 'My Virginmedia' to see if you can change that install date.

I did this and knocked almost 2 weeks off my (upcoming) 100Mb install date.

Re: 100MB upgrade price and superhub info

Had the same thing as you. Free install and Free Activation even when requiring a visit to install the hub and it was not included on the bill so was free as stated.

1) My opinion on the superhub is that it's worked flawlessly for me but obviously with everything there are problems, luckily I've never come across them.

2) AFAIK you can keep the 50meg modem but this is completely your option and what you would be comfortable with most. Regardless I believe the 100mb package requires an engineer visit to test various things.

3) The waiting time suggest's that Virgin are busy in your area but a simple phonecall asking if there are earlier slots can do no harm.
