I've never been a fan of computers with an odd number of RAM. I'd go for the added 1GB as 4GB is pretty normal, 3 is on the smaller side.
And you also have the better processor too.

Go for the one with the i5 processor.
Also I would take a look on the dell website before purchasing from currys. I have found in the past that their prices are much better.

I've had 3 acers and the battery has always failed within a few months which has put me off Acer, even though they have been good on performance and price.

I had an Acer netbook that had survived being stuffed in my bag and then carted around all the time.
Housemate has it now though as I prefer to use something with a bit more processing power than it had.
