V box connections

Hi guys

I am having trouble with the connections for my TV. I have a Virgin V box, and a DVD recorder. Having now lost the anologue channels, I thought I would also do away with the video recorder, as it is never used. Trouble is I can't get the recorder to work properly now. Every time I turn the V box on, the DVD recorder comes on as well and starts recording. Also when I record using the timer, it carries on recording even though the timer is finished.

I would really appreciate any help with my connections.

My tv has 3 scarts the DVD recorder has 2 scarts, and the V box also has 2 scarts, so what connects to what.

Cheers

Paul
