Cisco 877 can't seem to set default route.

I've been lent a cisco 877 to play with.

Basically I can get it working fine in bridge mode, but then it just makes it an expensive DSL modem.

I can't seem to get the thing to route, I've managed to setup a PPP session and pull down my IP address from my ISP as well as define IP's on Vlan1 and vlan40 (Which is defined as my management vlan)

What I can't seem to manage is to add the default route.

I've tried the command

Code:
Ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 dialer 1
which I believe to be correct and no errors are returned so it looks like it accepted the command

But it doesn't actually configure the route, you exit out of config mode and this is what you see.

Code:
Router#show ip route

Also I didn't create Virtual-Access2 I think it got created when the PPP session came up, i've also seen virtual-access1 show up there before.

Re: Cisco 877 can't seem to set default route.

Have you tried the ip route command and specifying the route of the gateway?

Yes I've tried what I believe the gateway shoud be and it still didn't appear to add it

The other problem is the gateway ip seems to change depending on which bng my session lands on
