VM Cable & viewing cards

Hi there.

I have just moved into a new house and in our living room we have a VM Vbox HD connected to cable. I've just realised that I also have cable in my bedroom. I have an old VM set-top box and connected it up to the cable and my TV. I'm receiving a few channels but not all of them, and error messages keep popping up.

Just wondering, in order to get the same cable TV in my room as the living room, do I only need a new VM viewing card from virgin? Or will they charge me more money each month to have multi-room TV?

As far as I am aware, You need to pay for a multiroom subscription if you are going to use more than one box as VM's security requires that each card be paired with the box it is used in. It also requires that each box is only used in the building where it was registered.

If the cable is in place and in good condition, there would be nothing stopping you taking your VboxHD into the other room, although you'd obviously lose the ability to watch it in the living room at the same time.

On a further note your old box will not be on your account and can not be added (you can only use boxes supplied by VM for your account).. You will need to get a new box from them for the second connection (which will come with a card)
