Me too, seems strage to want to go back to the V+ HD Box i'm not a TiVo user yet, will be by early August though, and from the videos i've seen TiVo looks 100% better than the V+HD box and if nothing elese your saving £2 per month unless your an XL subscriber of course.

The TiVo may well be a very good piece of kit but its not for everyone at the moment (ie no red button, reminders, and from the evidence on these boards V+ upscales SD better),i guess thats the case with the OP it certainly is with me,which is why i do not have it as yet.

TheCrowUK26 is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Getting rid?

I think the SD picture looks fine.......no difference noticed and I am very meticulous about picture quality and took me a while to set up my tv originally

I too was dis-satified with the TIVO for inferior picture quality and lack of programmes reminders/padding etc. and reverted back to my Samsung V+hd box within the 28 day cooling off period.
I spoke to Retentions and said no problem and they sent me the self install replacement box by return.

Re: Getting rid?

I also returned my Tivo, the rubbish picture quality and constant red ring of hell spinning in the middle of my screen, the reboots 3 times a week, the freezing up was too much.

Re: Getting rid?

I've had mine for over two months now. Picture quality excellent (certainly not "rubbish") no freezing, never needed a reboot, red ring at worse there for a second or two. I read some posts on this forum and wonder if there's a problem with quality control with the installations or some faulty hardware out there.
The only reason for returning to a V+ would be if I didn't watch any HD: the V+ is a great SD device, but the TiVo is far superior for high def.

I watch HD on my V+ and the picture quality is excellent too!!!!!

The main reason i have not upgraded as i explained i think its up for debate the picture quality on TiVo SD of course different people different opinions, however TiVo definately does not have Red Button it may be "coming soon" but its not there yet,no reminders either which is a feature i use a lot on V+,also as a single person who records perhaps three -to four hours of tv a week i do not need a mega hardrive to store lots of HD recordings.

Re: Getting rid?

TiVo is the now/future for VM, you all are just delaying the inevitable that one day in the near future all replacement V+ boxes will be replace by a TiVo.

The thing that annoys me is when someone gets a new product to Market, which TiVo they expect it to work without any bugs or need for updates! In a year everybody who will want a PVR from VM will want to get their hands on a TiVo!
