HTC Desire S MMS Settings

Can anyone help me with the MMS settings for the HTC Desire S please? Also where in the settings do you go to enter them? Nothing on the Virginmobile site for the Desire S yet.

I've been sent several picture messages today but getting sent to website to view them. Nothing on the Virginmobile site yet.

Re: HTC Desire S MMS Settings

This link should be all you need i hope, try the settings for the HTC Wildfire from that list as the Desire S is strangely absent.

Go here

http://www.virginmobile.com/vm/setup...s.howdoi.sm101

And click through using HTC > HTC Wildfire - they are both android and should work fine, this is what I did for my old HTC Desire and had no problems.

The settings are :-

Setting up the Device
  1. On the device, tap the Menu icon (or Applications > Menu)
  2. Select Settings > Wireless & networks (or Wireless Controls) > Mobile networks > Access Point Names.
  3. Press the Menu key and tap New APN.
  4. Select Name, enter Virgin MMS and tap OK.
  5. Select APN, enter goto.virginmobile.uk and tap OK.
  6. Enter the user name and password listed below. If no value is listed, leave the field blank.
    • User name:
    • Password:
  7. Select MMSC, enter http://mms.virginmobile.co.uk:8002 and tap OK.
  8. Select MMS proxy, enter 193.30.166.2 and tap OK.
  9. Select MMS port, enter 8080 and tap OK.
  10. If available, select Authentication type then select PAP
  11. Select APN type, enter mms and tap OK.
  12. Press the Menu key and select Save
The settings are saved and the service is ready for use.
Setting details
Below are the details of your settings

Re: HTC Desire S MMS Settings

What i don't understand about the above VPN settings is my Desire Sensation can receive and send MMS but in my VPN settings there are no entries? Is this the normal place for MMS settings, if so why does my phone work with MMS?

Re: HTC Desire S MMS Settings

Thanks for the replies everyone - found out that you have to send yourself a picture message then everything is okay! Didn't have to make any setting changes.
