Apologies if this has been asked before, it probably has. Are we likely to get any dedicated 3d channels on Virgin in the foreseeable future?

Hi, we just had Eurosport 3D for two weeks but its gone now the Tennis is over. Hopefully it will comeback soon.

There are no current plans for any other dedicated 3D channels as there isn't enough content. There is quiet a lot of 3D content in the VOD section of catch up TV though

An Digital Spy poster has saying that ITV 3D is set to launch on Virgin TV later this year.

Wimbledon is also on the BBC HD channel in 3D on VM (finals only ) , Discovery 3D was granted a license by OFCOM not sure when that will arrive.

I think at the moment Sky 3D is the only available 3D channel in the UK.

It may be testing currently but that does not mean the channel will actually launch. Especially as they really wouldn't have anything to show on it.

as it is only the Wimbledon Finals they are being shown on the BBC HD channel so that isn't really a stand alone HD channel.

That was what I said , I never claimed it was a channel , however it's watchable 3D content on VM.

I am well aware what he asked , I was merely informing him he can watch the Wimbledon finals on VM in 3D

Does that mean those of us who don't wish to view it in 3D won't be able to watch it in HD?? I won't be pleased if that happens.

If the finals are on BBC1 then they will be shown on BBC1HD and the 3D content will be on BBC HD

No it will be shown on BBC 1 HD still.

Its only going to be the Men's and Women's Finals shown in 3D the rest of Wimbledon will be SD and HD.
