I still haven't got a tivo, it's coming soon .

What I would like to see them develop and add is more apps. I rarely, if ever use reminders on the V+ but it is obviously a popular feature. I would also like the ethernet port enabled but I dont think that is coming soon.

Well, when a few more customers actually get their hands on this brilliant service, then this thread may grow some more.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

To sort out the rest of the UI...

I'd read about some parts not being the shiny HD interface, but had thought that it was just things like the apps section.

Very disappointing that the recordings section is the old SD interface, given that its such a large part of the whole PVR thing.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

One of the key things for me with TiVo was being able to view your recordings on different formats. Ie pc or iPod.

Until this function becomes available I don't think I will bother.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

I think the first priority is to get some of the V+ UI features into Tivo and sort out basic UI issues. Examples are:

Stop a recording you are watching when you press stop

Show viewed status of a recording like V+ e.g. recorded, viewed, partial viewed

Reminders (plenty of people want this)

A good proportion of Tivo users will be ex V+ users so get these fixed first!

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

It should be easier to cancel a recording from the EPG as well.
ATM you have to go through several screens (some in SD) to cancel a recording when it was one button press on the V+

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

I think a big thing for me is reverting back to SD menus. In 2011 on a flagship product this is unacceptable imo.

I'd also like to see the native iPad app sooner rather than later.

System wide padding for recordings & i'm not sure if this will be possible but a true dynamic EPG that has the ability to update in real time like the Sky guide would be fantastic.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

For me it would definitely be the BBC red button services as they were on V+.

Plus - picture quality - SD is much softer and it also seems worse on the i-player (both SD and HD) than it was on the V+ i-player.

Other than that - very happy with the Tivo so far!

For starters...
  1. parental control for apps (or disable/hide apps)
  2. consistent PIN parental control behaviour for live TV, recorded and on demand shows.
  3. mark recordings as unwatched, partial and watched as per V+
  4. Search music on demand
Plus stuff above like picture quality obviously, red button and iPad app.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

Something else I'd like, is in the cast information for it to show the character they played as well.

Re: What we would like in the next Tivo update.

I'd like the recording options to remember the last used settings.

I pretty much always go in and change 'Keep At Most' to 'All episodes' and 'Keep until' to 'Until I Delete'

It doesn't take long to change them, but it would be a nice feature.

I currently usually don't set padding because of the way tivo handles it. So I'd like padding to be handled like the V+ does it, i.e., drop padding when two programmes on different channels are being recorded on the same tuner.

Then, a default optional padding would work and should be introduced.
