Phone calls saying BB support Warning!

Just got a call on the BT phone saying he was my broadband support and my pc was about to crash and he would help. in his best Indian accent.

When I said yeah what bb company am I with he went through them all sky, virgin etc saying they cover them all.
He hung up when I said so do you think I'm going to switch on a computer and let someone I don't know on it remotely.

Silence then he hung up. Be warned!!! Total ****...

There is a known scam going around... they get remote access to your PC by saying it's got a virus.

The is also the other scam were you inadvertently click a link and you get a popup asking for £50 to remove a virus as long as you enter your credit card details, never click the link as it will empty your account just as quickly.
