Will you take TIVO one the email that you got today?
On the emails that have been sent out today will you take the deal or leave it (please one vote and also one post to state why you will or will not )

Reading reviews of it, and user comments on here, it sounds very impressive, but the clincher for me is the 1TB hard disk.

It's a fairly even spread of votes so far. Will be interesting to see how this develops? I envisage it remaining this way, judging by the mixture of anti and pro TiVo posts on this forum.

I was seriously considering getting Tivo and would have possibly stretched to £149, but adding the £40 install is just a slap in the face to all of us that have been been left dangling in the wind by VM for the last four months.

I voted no i wont, i really wont pay nearly £200 for this product, we watch a fair bit of telly, but i just cant see a scenario where TiVo would fit into our life, the ability to record and catch up, plus watch films and Footy suits us fine, the bigger hard drive would be good.. but not at silly prices like that.

This will hopefully put an end to the tedious task of torrenting shows cos I missed the catchup period, then all that irritating remuxing and streaming from PC to ps3.

I voted no due to being promised for months that VIP customers would be looked after!!!!!!!!!!!! £40 install is an absolute joke!!!!!!

Not for me. As mentioned above, the £40 installation fee is a kick in the teeth for all the pre-regs not lucky enough to be amongst the "chosen few". Together with the many features omitted from the early release firmware, I'll wait at least until autumn and see how things have developed by then.

Will be taking one as I need a bigger hard drive, looking forward to using the new functionality too.

Re: Will you take TIVO one the email that you got today?
"Here’s the deal:
1TB TiVo box
£149.95 one-off activation fee exclusively for existing customers (everyone else pays £199.95)
£3 additional monthly fee with TV XL"
I'm still struggling to find this "deal" they are referring to. As far as I can see I'm essentially saving the equivalent of the HD activation fee which I've paid already. I'm not really that disappointed as I'm still to be convinced that Tivo is for me.
It's early days with this vote however so far less than a 3rd of pre-registered customers are looking to take the service. I'm sure these numbers will change however not a strong start. How many pre-registered customers are there? Did I read between 50,000 to 80,000?

are all people voting pre-regers? Also depends if you're a half glass empty person reading those results, as to me I'd include the "considering" votes as just that... potential buyers. But that's me, the optimist.

In fact I'm going to hold on a little longer before passing final judgment. I'm sure Virgin are still holding back on a fantastic offer for their VIP customers!
