found this on media boy's blog
This Morning I found that Virgin Media has added 14 channels to my ''Total Channels'' list and Cable Forums ''mersey70'' has confirm that Virgin are testing out 14 new encrypted streams have been added called SptsETV.
Even though I said I would be checking for tests on my cable tuner equipped TV I thought it selfish not to given the jump in channels today.
I can confirm that 14 new encrypted streams have been added and are no doubt interactive feeds related to Sky Sports Red Button.
but when I press the red button on sky sports nothing happens so thay cant be testing it

Just because you don't have access, doesn't mean they aren't testing it.
I don't know Virgin's procedures for testing Red Button content, but I am fairly certain they can test it on the public network without giving customer's access.

Re: found this on media boy's blog
Have you tried rebooting your box?
Failing that change your batteries on your remote.
If that doesn't work, then try pressing the button harder.

Alternatively, turning the remote upside down and pointing it away from the TV and pressing Red will trick it into accessing the hidden Red Button test.

if you open the windows and clap really loudly, then the signals will come through from Sky for Red Button.

Virgin Media are just testing them out on streams ahead of the launch of the Sky Sports Red Button later this month - sometime in the week starting April 18th.
''mersey70'' can only pick up the tests due to his telly leting him.

You seem to have left one part out of you post which is
''mersey70'' has confirm that Virgin are testing out 14 new encrypted streams have been added called SptsETV.
Tests appear for Sky Sports Red Button on Virgin.

They are flagged as SptsETV 1 - 14
Nothing else had been added as far as I can see.

Re: found this on media boy's blog
No, no, no!
Everyone knows that VM have no intention of adding channels. Clearly, the additional streams are a test to remove 14 channels.
