Exclamation Photobucket (possible rogue adverts)

Had two people complain on different forums that they've had the usual "Your PC is compromised, press any key to scan" and then end up with multiple malware implanted.

So if you use photobucket please be careful and if you get a pop-up DO NOT click on it even to select the X close icon as it'll be a fake icon. Best to quickly just restart the PC leaving the window in place (or use task manager to kill the browser)

Thanks for the warning Kymmy and for the warning about it happening on Photobucket.

Well worth a reminder to us all not to interact with any thing that pops up on our screens such as this.

Re: Photobucket (possible rogue adverts)

If this is the "XP Home Security 2011" fake antivirus thing that is going around then it is a pain in the butt to get rid of. Have had to clean 2 machines in the last week because of this

Offline scan booting the Bitdefender rescue CD and then run a Malwarebytes scan afterwards will sort it.
