Sky Sports red button
Why cant virgin get 5 sky hd boxes all on red button watching diffrent games.
Hook them up to the head end and broadcast them on channel 450 451 452 453 454 455.
Am I missing something?

Re: Sky Sports red button
Maybe because it would be rather illegal and of poor quality.
Plus you would need an extra box as you have listed 6 channels.

Plus also VIRGIN have not got access to SKY red button in any way shape or form at the moment so that is why they are unable to broadcast it

I am only joking as I do not think that they will pay for 5 boxes and the subs to broadcast them

Re: Sky Sports red button
About three weeks ago DF said Red Button will be coming soon to Virginmedia and I have seen posts saying it will be here before April, we shall see.

No software but still illegal.
They'd be using a DOMESTIC sub for commercial purposes.
Now they could have gone to sky and gone "give us the raw feeds and we'll just bodge together a solution to getting match choice out there" but it's a pretty poor and messy job just for a couple of hours a week of football, and ignores all of the other red button content.
Better to wait and do something properly rather than bodging it together in the shortest time possible.

I hope it is here in April as we have waited long enough for it now.

Not possible, VM would be sued by BSkyB.

I just saw an rumour: DS Forums poster ''Technix'' says that the Sky Red Button IS ''currently in testing. They've added 14 video streams just to facilitate Sky Sports' red button service.''

There is no sign of 14 new streams testing.
In fact there dosen't appear to be any new tests broadcasting at all.

They better launch it in April when the cost for tv and net will go up(Coincidence?)
I wont hold my breath on the Red button appearing anytime soon.
Will it launch begin, middle or end of April or is this another smokescreen to stop customers defecting to Sky?
