Superhub As Modem Only
Hi. Currently on 20mb broadband using the standard modem and an Apple Timecapule as wireless router/access point etc. If I get the Superhub, can this be set to be used as a modem only and not for creating a wireless network etc, as am happy with current setup? Thanks.

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
In full? Not yet. Closest you can get is putting your own router into the DMZ of the SuperHub

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
Thanks for the reply. Don't think I will bother then, as extra speed increase is not worth the risk of messing up my setup.

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
I spent ages trying to get my router to work in the DMZ but it failed - not sure this workaround is 100% (Theory says it should just work..practice was different)

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
DMZ is too finnicky, and still doesn't offer a proper solution. Best just to wait until the modem bridge mode firmware update comes out and is verified working properly a few months after release. Judging by the Q2 2011 prediction, we're talking springtime. So y'know, bit of a wait...

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
I had no problem disabling the Wifi on the Superhub and using my own Wireless Router.
Just make sure you disable the Wifi on the Superhub first, then power it down.
Connect your router etc, power on the superhub, wait for it to sync up etc, then power on your router, it should work fine.

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
I have done this. Turning out wireless on my superhub and connecting it to the wireless router I prefer to use. However since doing this I am getting a lot of problems on my Xbox which complains of a strict NAS, this is seriously affecting my game playing online.
Any idea how I can resolve this? I can't actually connect to the superhub at the moment, unless I reset it? How else can I access a Superhub which has the wireless off.
EDIT: Solved using this website: http://www.unofficialguidetolive.co....edia-super-hub

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is anything you can do with this until Virgin bring out their firmware fix that will allow you to use the superhub in bridged mode.
By placing another router in front of the Super hub you are in essence, double NAT'ing your connectivity. You could try disabling and turning off all firewall features of the super hub to see if this makes a difference.

Re: Superhub As Modem Only
We really shouldn't have to do all this if the damn Superhub did it's job properly in the first place!!! I'm really irritated tonight... trying to watch some game demos and videos on the PS3! It's playing a lot faster than it is downloading the data... 'Pauses for 3 secs, Plays for 3 seconds, Pauses for...' you get the picture. I've played around with every setting on the Hub I can see... still doesn't sort my poor wireless signal.
Wished I'd never bloody bothered upgrading...
