Jbod

Hi

I currently have a set-up where I have 5 disk all together as 1 logical drive.

Does anyone know if I would be able to add another disk to that JBOD without losing all the data stored on them?

Cheers

Re: Jbod

JBOD is just a bunch of disks each individually addressed so not an array.

I assume your logical array set up in software? just adding a disk in theory should just work

Re: Jbod

So Windows is set to span any loigcal drives you have across mutlipe disks then? As far as I know, you'd install the disk into your PC and then just include it in the span set via disk management.

Re: Jbod

It depends on the controller, but generally yes.

Windows only see 1 disk. The setup is done in the RAID BIOS.
