PHPMyAdmin / MySQL
Hi,
Just installed PHPMyAdmin on my NAS drive which has MySQL built it.
I'm trying to logon for the first time tro change the default password and create a DB but I'm not sure of the default ID and password.
I think the default ID is root but the password is unknown.
Google suggests many things like <blank> but other sugestions say I need to create it somehow.
Is there a file I need to modify somewhere?

Re: PHPMyAdmin / MySQL
The password will be your Mysql root password which is different to the normal root password..
If it's a *nix file system then try this

Re: PHPMyAdmin / MySQL
Hi Kymmy,
That's kinda catch-22 - the MySQL is built into my NAS device and there are no options for setting user ID / password - just a simple enable / disable.
Will check the link...

Re: PHPMyAdmin / MySQL
Thanks for that Kymmy - I had tried some of that already - changing the ['AllowNoPassword'] to true but I think what did it was the reset of the MySQL password in admin panel of my device!
Success! I'm in - now to secure it with a password!
