DVD/CD burning
Hi guys,
My friend has something burned onto a DVD but he wants to burn it to a CD instead because his friend only has a CD reader, is there any way of copying whats been burned onto the DVD onto a CD, whatever it is, it is only about 500mb.
Cheers, and I hope you all have a great Christmas break. x

Re: DVD/CD burning
2 ways.... easiest try to find the original data and burn it to cd that way
or just copy the contents onto the desktop and burn it from there.

Re: DVD/CD burning
It might be an OS, maybe a bootleg XP, maybe not, not sure, none of my business really, would he still be able to copy something that's bootable, or whatever you call it? I know I'm being a bit vague but I've never come across this before.

Re: DVD/CD burning
well.. he isn't just copying now is he. He is making a bootable cd and putting some filles on to it as well.So if he thinks he can get a copy of an OS and make a copy , then no, it won't work, not without a good bit of an effort and the right software. but I don't know what software is required to do this 'cos I believe this is illegal aand not to be discussed

Re: DVD/CD burning
dunno why anyone would waste a dvd on bootleg xp seeing as it fits on a cd anyway
There are plenty of ways of creating a bootable cd for legit reasons just google it

It really hacks me off when people come on here and just put 'Google it', like that would never occur to folks. Personally I ask questions on here because a personal reply is often more helpful and can be followed up with more questions if needed, and 99% of the time all the helpful people on here give a better and more pertinent response than I would get by 'Googling it'. So all you lot out there who can only preach the law of Google, save it, you are of no help WHATSOEVER.

Re: DVD/CD burning
wind your neck in mate I only said google it because I was concerned the topic might be seen as in breach of copyright as the OP mentioned it might be an Operating system and I didnt want to fall foul of the mods. Ive only been here a short while and offered a fair bit of help on this forum already so stick that in your pipe and smoke it

@Thunderpants - I seriously suggest you watch your tone in future - there is no reason or excuse for an ignorant outburst like that.
