Time for a change?
Failed recordings, some recordings so corrupt they are unwatchable, v+box re-booting two nights running for no apparent reason. Time for a new box? The SA may be slow and a bit clunky but it has served me well for many years. Perhaps I will get the new Samsung box as a replacement. Does it upscale as well as the SA?

Yeah, sounds like a call to Support is needed. People have mixed reviews of the upscale on the Samsung. I've still got a SA.

Re: Time for a change?
I'm having the same issues with my SA V+ box... HD recording are corrupt, the box often reboots is recording two HD channels, or flicking through the channels while recording HD. Mine is the ye olde silver SA box so quite old. I figure I may as well put up with it until TiVo arrives though.... :-/

Agree, the SA is slow, clunky and sometimes get's itself in a twist (more often when you really need to to change channels!) but I'm holding fire for the Tivo. That looks like a tasty bit of kit!

Re: Time for a change?
My SA is also playing up a bit but seems to only be content recorded on BBC1, thankfully not all recordings, only every so often. I get a quite blocky picture with sound break up. Its not the whole recording and seems to range from 3 minutes to 30 minutes, very strange.
I too am waiting for the TiVo, in particular the pricing. A one off fee I can deal with but if there is a monthly sub then I'll report the SA to faults
