Responsibility

Now i am not saying the parents shouldnt in some circumstances be held liable but this just seems insane to me

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/22/20101029...d-011ccfa.html

when i consider what goes on in the Meithrin ( nursery for the english ) everyday if this sort of law came here i would have to employ more solicitors than nursery staff lol

Re: Responsibility

Sue the girl. who's to say that the parents have to pay?
I'd question as to why they're not suing the parents instead of the child, as they're responsible for her. and when they say that it's the girl. then I'd argue that in that case the parents are not responsible for paying the money.

I'd say that even the family liability insurance would argue the toss, and again it would come down to who is actually being sued. it's a bit like your mate being sued as he's old enough in the eyes of the law to be sued. but it turns out he's got no money so they hold you liable for his debt.

they didn't hold you liable for his actions but they do for his debt.

but besides all that. it's pathetic.

Re: Responsibility

I remember reading a comparison between the Japanese and Americans. It boiled down to one thing.

When something goes wrong, the Japanese spend a lot of time and energy looking for what is wrong and fixing it. The Americans (and us to some extent) spend a lot of time and energy looking for someone to blame.
