Modem dead

Long story short my cable modem just had liquid spilt on it and it's now totally ****ed. I just spoke to Indian tech support on the phone, they said it would take 3 to 5 working days for me to get a replacement. Is there no way I could get an engineer to just drop one round this evening or tomorrow morning between installs? What time is UK tech support back on?

Thanks

Re: Modem dead

3-5 days is quite fast, Remember that even those paying for engineer installs have to be booked weeks in advance. So what makes you think you're special ??

Re: Modem dead

Because an install and posting a modem through a letterbox aren't quite the same thing.

...and I guess that you'll be expecting the replacement modem to be free of charge as well as hand-delivered, given that it's your fault that it's broken in the first place!

If you ordered it before 3pm which it appears you have, then on average it is usually next day plus one means it may come Thursday if you are lucky.

If you had said that you had spilled liquid on it then you could have been charged I believe £50 for the replacement or possibly more.

Re: Modem dead

What would you rather have? A free modem in a few days or a £35 engineer visit?
