Problems with iPhone.

Hi all,

I recently was having problems with my iphone and connecting to my pc with is running XP SP3, everytime i tried to connect via usb it would say unrecognized device and i couldnt find much help on the net or the solutions i found didnt help me, anyway i have fixed it now and if anyone else has has or get's this problem then here is what i did.

First thing is you need to get Apple mobile device support which i got from the apple software update if you open that and click on tools at the top then you can choose download only, i did just try to install that but even after it saying intallation was a succses my phone still didnt work. Anyway for sake of ease i copyed it to usb stick (just so i knew exaclty where it was) now open device managment (start/run/devmgmt.msc) and plug you phone in, under the usb controllers it should say something like apple iphone device with a hazard symbol right click then properties (u might have to quick because for me it disappers), now click driver details it now should give you a option to install driver click that then choose the option to find it youself - this is where i saved it usb, so from the list find the location you saved the apple mobile device support and click ok/install and you should see it copy the drivers to system32 folder.

That should be it, this might sound abit ass about face but i cant go through it again so just trying to explain this from memory, this really fustrated me so if anyone has or heard of this problem then i hope this helps.
