Bad news for SPL Footie Fans
The early details of Sky Sports TV schedule is in:
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12942,00.html
^^^
Looks like Sky are moving the SPL games to SS4 and SS4HD.
So no watching SPL teams in HD on Cable, if that is what anyone was planning.

There is no doubt the SPL will be back on SKYSPORTS1&2 HD when the cricket is over

And the moon is really made of cheese
It was obvious from the second that agreement was made with VM that sky would have contingency plans in place, I said then that they would make more use of Sky sports 3 and 4 in hd. Plus they have increased the cost of sky sports by £3.00 from September which should cover any shortfall due to the price implemented by Ofcom
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/10472058.stm
Sky are the dominant provider when it comes to sport and they intend to stay that way.

We shall see.
So you think they would banish the England cricket internationals to SKY SP 3 & 4 in favour of SPL games ???? Not on your nelly. Of course there still may be some SPL games on 3 or 4, but after the cricket has finished there will be games back on 1, more likely 2 when they fit in with the schedule
I maintain my initial thoughts.....but at the end of the day, SKY are entitled to schedule the SPL or anything else where ever they see it fits their business model, just as VIRGIN will fit channels into whatever package they see fits the business and what possibly will generate the most income/profitability for them....its the way business works you know.

I agree.
My point was that Vm made a big song and a dance about getting Sky sports 1 and 2 in HD, Its obvious to anyone not involved in the negotiations that sky had a obvious route to go to reduce the impact of those negotiations and yet again put a spanner in the works

Re: Bad news for SPL Footie Fans
The SPL games were on SKY Sports 3 last year anyway so no real change here.

I'll be amazed if they did, Sky's latest ad campaign highlights how the entire Sky Sports Collection (including SSN) are exclusively in HD on Sky.

Very true. SKY have the 4 Old Firm games. Whilst I remember the SPL games being shown on SKY Sports 3 last year, I think the 4 Old Firm games were shown on either SKY Sports 1 or SKY Sports 2. Can anyone else remember this?
