Recommend a good router for I Phone 4, Xbox 360, Cable Virgin
Hi
Anybody recommend a good router to be used with the above, My Netgear WGR614 V6 seem to be struggling with my new I Phone 4 on B&G network but if I change to B only works flawless ?? but B is the slower setting so dont't want to leave it set to that so I need a decent router that will work with I Phone 4

Change to G only and that should be fine. The iPhone4 should be G compatible.

Not working as it should with G only, slow and pages stick and dont load, if I change to B only everything works fine, quick and no problems, just thinking its my router as other people across the net have problems with this netgear router and I phone.

What encryption are you using? Have you also tried changing channels? Those are the only things that could affect it.
A WRT54 style model with Tomato or DD-WRT should do the job perfectly. You can find them cheap on Amazon and eBay.

I had no problems with using my old WRT54G (running DD-WRT) to connect my iPhones (3G and 4) and xbox. Admmittedly, I use Be rather than VM, but the router works..

Thanks Stuart, might give one of them a try, how is it with the xbox and nat settings, do you have to do any port forwarding or change DMZ settings.
Thanks

Re: Recommend a good router for I Phone 4, Xbox 360, Cable Virgin
I'm currently using the Virgin Media standard D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N Router and am having no problems at all. My Xbox 360, PS3, Wii all connect to it no problem (and at a good speed too), while my sisters iPod Touch 3rd Gen connects flawlessly. Before this, I had a pretty old Belkin G router and my Xbox and Wii connected to that with no issues either.
I've never used anything other than WEP security on both routers (as I believe some devices struggle to connect with anything higher, such as the Nintendo DS which cannot connect at all.)
