All I want is a new remote!!
It turns out that all I needed was a new digital box which the tech put in yesterday. My problem is my remote is from the stone age or rather from Ntl, which makes it very old. I can't adjust the volume on it or use the back button.
I tried calling Virign this morning and after waiting 5 minutes I actually talked to someone and then then she put me on hold!! All I want is a new remote. How hard is that? Well, very hard apparently. After waiting over 10 minutes on hold, I was having breakfast and reading the paper, the woman came back on and said she would call me back instead of making me wait on hold.
Why can't she just ask an engineer or someone in the stock cupboard just to pop a new remote in the post for me?
Am I being too picky and whingy?

Just call back, Faults will usually just place a order for a remote to be sent out. Takes about 5 days to arrive.

Maybe they have ran out of remotes because of all the job lots of brand new ones for sale on ebay. I wonder where they have all come from?

When the blue remote for my samsung set top box no longer wanted to remember programming to operate the TV volume/channel/etc, I did get a new remote, but they sent me a grey one that didn't work with my box. So I called back and got into an argument with the call centre staff who, along with her manager, refused to acknowledge that remotes could be set up in such a way. I hung up on that useless cretin and just flat out lied to the next person I rang and got an engineer visit and a new STB. Just for a broken remote.
Why do the simple things have to be so hard?
