Exclamation Ashampoo problem

I recently got rid of this software yet the boot defrag screen still appears on start up and I dont know how to get rid , suggestionS APPRECIATED. ITS probably doing no harm except to my obsessive compulsive nature

Re: Ashampoo problem

When you say: "got rid of", how did you remove it?
If you didn't uninstall it using the program's uninstaller (from the start menu or Add/Remove) it might be easiest to install the program again, exactly as you did (same location/options etc.) and then use the included uninstall option.
Obviously, if that's what you already did, you can ignore the above.

Re: Ashampoo problem

uninstalled programme with revo uninstaller which activates the programmes own uninstall then cleans up all remaining files supposedly but as this boot defrag must be on the boot menu or bios then it has stayed around and iv checked boot menu and bios and cant see any programme of this name , prob best leaving well alone as could end up with a disaster on my hands :-)

Re: Ashampoo problem

Possibly do a registry search for Ashampoo only if your comfortable with the registry and don`t have other Ashampoo products

Specifically you could try these keys.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunOnce]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServices]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\RunServicesOnce]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Userinit]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\RunOnce]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\RunServices]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\RunServicesOnce]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows]

Also it may be wise to do a registry back up using Erunt http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/ before you start deleting keys.

What Operating System is this on?
