Blackberry

Hi,

Anybody here with a Blackberry?

Can you answer a couple of questions?

Are IMAP / Gmail accounts supported - i.e. can you connect to Gmail (IMAP) and send / recieve.

Is the above done within the Blackberry "wrapper"?

Some numpty woman at O2 just tried to convince me that regardless of connecting to our home WiFi access point, they would still charge for the data transfer - she called this streaming. I don't think this is streaming in the sense of something like iPlayer, but could this be to do with the collecting the data to and from the BlackBerry server / device at the other end?

And would the same be true for general internet use?

I've one with work but its on a BES server so I just installed the gmail app onto it but I'm pretty sure you can set it up to pull the mail directly from gmail.

Re: Blackberry

I've got a blackberry on Orange, and while connected to WiFi, its not charged for data from the network provider.

Gmail (IMAP) works really well, never misses a beat - even though its not 'officially' supported.

I am sure it used to be collected via BIS - but very recently I had to download an updated to get IMAP working.
