1 Box stuttering on some channels

Hello. On one of our normal virgin boxes (Samsung SMT-2100C) The picture and sound is stuttering. It seems to be doing it on some channels. I've noticed it's occurs on ESPN and Eurosport. Last week I had problems with Film4(not checked yet). This I've only noticed really when the snow had started.

The cable into the box is fine, but the splitter(??) on the wall was a bit loose, but with a blow and hand tighting no changes in quality. But a certain little dog in the household goes behind the tv to do some business, with a bigger dog soon following to mark his terrority(b'stard). Now this splitter could have got a bit wet, but it doesn't appear to show any signs of being wet(and doesn't smell like the carpet).

Now on the other box these channels are fine. I've not noticed any problems with my internet service which comes through a seperate modem.

Room 1 - Problem
STB

Room 2 - Fine
STB
Cable Modem (9.86Mb/s Down/0.49Mb/s Up) - Seems fine for 10Mb package.

Naturally the Mother will call Virgin next week. But what are people thoughts on this? Could it be the box? Splitter? Connection from the outside?

Damn them doggies

If you've checked all connections and made sure no vents are covered on the V-box then you need to call Support on 151 for an engineer to call and check the box.
