God of War I & II for the PS3
The only real reason I wanted Sony to ever bring back PS2 BC for the PS3 was so I could finally play God of War I and II... and now it doesn't matter
Sony are releasing God of War I and II on one Blu-ray Disc, remastered at 720p for the PS3, as the "God of War Collection".

FOSTER CITY, Calif., September 1, 2009 – Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) announced today a new and exclusive PlayStation®3 (PS3™) offering for the critically acclaimed God of War® franchise, God of War® Collection. Same, I've never played those 2 but when they showed God of War III at E3, it looked really awesome. So I may have to check them 2 out before the third is released.

Re: God of War I & II for the PS3
Its devil may cry from capcom set in greece time frame. with chain reach weapons replacing dantes guns for long range attacks. The first game was very platform based with repeated "walk the plank" sections. the Real Time Events from the game cube that have been in most games since got boring fast.

Same "hack 'n' slash" genre as DMC, yeah, but I've never read the kind of praise I've read for GoW for DMC though. GoW II was widely acclaimed as being one of *the* best PS2 games ever.

GOW2 was amazing, never got to play the first one though. My PS3 has BC but I'd much rather get this disc with both on it remastered.

Oh yeah, before I buy this aswell I think I'll wanna see some comparison screenshots from the original games. Just so I can see what the difference actually is.

Well they will be running at 720p so I imagine the frame rate and textures will be slightly improved.
I do remember that God of War 2 had an enhanced mode when run through a PS3 but only in the USA.

I think I'll wait to see when it's released over here before getting it imported.

Re: God of War I & II for the PS3
Still no word on a UK/Europe release for this.
I've pre-ordered the REGION FREE US version from Movietyme.com. Currently £27.99, although it was £26.99 when I pre-ordered it.

Re: God of War I & II for the PS3
Movietyme just declined my card! I've got over £400 in my bank so it shouldn't deny it. I'll have to try it again.

Re: God of War I & II for the PS3
I had an email (yesterday I think) which said it was "Processing". It also says "Processing" when I log into Movietyme.com.
