Pixellating & signal noise

I am getting intermittent pixellating on all channels probably caused from an outside source (maybe a neighbour) on both my V+ boxes

VM have tried for 2 months to stop it (replacing all equipment, boxes, re-pulling my cable, fitting attenuators and finally replacing the amplifier in the street cabinet)

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you cure it??

although VM say im receiving a perfect signal they also say im picking up signal noise on both boxes. Im wondering now if it's coming through my mains power leads

Ant help or advice welcome

Hi and to the forum!

Has all the internal wiring been checked by the engineers?

Re: Pixellating & signal noise

If the interference is mains borne an RFI filter block should do the trick.

The one I've linked to also has surge protection.

Re: Pixellating & signal noise

hi there , yea we have the same problem ( st1 area stoke ), only certain channels itv, living, brovo, food and on demand. had a engineer out last week and he replaced the splitters, still the same. called them again and enginner called again, we are getting a 4 db drop between the splitter and v+ box so got a installer calling tomorrow to replace cable. let u know if it works

Did you not say you had the internal wiring replaced already though?

If not it is very likely to be that if all else has failed. I know a colleauge of mine had a similar thing and she had a damaged wire that had a tack through it.

Re: Pixellating & signal noise

Sounds like you need a principal engineer to visit...how may times have engineers been to the property now?

Re: Pixellating & signal noise

to date I have had 7 engineers ranging from general to supervisor troubleshooter and from Network. There are no more to send so it looks like I'm on my own

I probably will. I have already put 2 ferrite barrel type filters andI'm just waiting to see if I get any more interference. It can go for a day or so with none then starts up again.
