Account question

I'm planning on ringing CS in the morning but maybe somebody on here can shed some light on this for me.
I signed up online for a new broadband account and I just got an email telling me that there is already an account at my address in another name. This account is my landlords who still pays the line rental for the phone and wants to keep doing so. I want a BB connection but want it seperate from their account. Can this be done? I have previously had a business account here in addition to their residential phone account and that didn't raise any issues. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do?
Thanks

Re: Account question

You can only have 1 account at your address so the landlord would have to have the broadband on his account or you can do a transfer of account holders but this means you would have the landline and broadband on your bill.

Re: Account question

My business broadband was in my employers name and my landlord still had their account, is that because it was NTL Business as a seperate business and not under the VM name?

Re: Account question

Well, looks like I've had it then. No idea why landlord wants to keep phone line, especially when they will be selling the house in the new year. If I was to transfer their account to me, how easy would it be to change it back to them if I end up moving out in say 4 months, and what would happen as far as the contract went, they have had the phone line for years but obviously the BB would be a new contract. Things are never simple are they? lol

Re: Account question

If you transfer an account it's a new 12 month contract
