Question eeepc 900 Power Supply - will they replace it?

The power supply for my netbook has a few kinks in it, which now means its not charging at all. I've noticed how flimsy they are (don't seem to have much protection around the actual wire) as more kinks have appeared.

I'm a bit annoyed as I've only had it 10 months, do you think its worth asking Asus to replace it? Or am I flogging a dead horse?

I've got a new one on order, but it wouldn't hurt to have two.

TIA

Re: eeepc 900 Power Supply - will they replace it?

You would probably need to argue that the flimsy nature of the power supply made it unfit for purpose. They would perhaps be arguing that you mistreated it. However a power supply for a laptop is inevitably going to come in for some high wear and tear as it's continually stuffed into and out of carrying cases. It needs to be at least as portable as the laptop.

I agree Rob, I don't think i've got much chance of getting one out of them.

I have to say though, i have a ex-sparky friend who pointed out on the day I got it (in fact it was he who bought me it), how flimsy it was. Because of his advice, I reckon I got an extra six months out of it.

You can treat powercables with care . Instead of stuffing it anywhere as Rob so elequently puts it they can be carfully looped to fit inside the bag without any tightbends being made
