M Broadband

Was over at my gradparents place and took a look at their vm bill. I see that they're being charged £20 for broadband size M, with loyalty pack BB/Phone/TV A at -£13.50.

Are they getting ripped off for broadband, as I thought there was only size L now available, and that was much cheaper than £20.

(They also have TV Size L for 11.50 and Talk unlimited for 7.95, with the loyalty pack as mentioned above.)

And they're paying 38.20 in total.

Re: M Broadband

Yes but on the bill it shows as £25 and you get an £11 discount if you take it with the phoneline (£12.50 if you have TV L as well) - making it £14

So Virgin would say your grandparents are paying £8 for BB M (£20 - £12 as £1.50 on the discount would go to the TV)

So paying £38.20 for TV L, BB M, and Talk Unlimited (plus line rental) is the norm? (Even with the discount?)

Re: M Broadband

No, the 'norm' based on the last advertised price for BB M (and the price change on the 1st May) would be £40.95

So to answer your original question - no they are not getting 'ripped off'

Re: M Broadband

With the upgrade of BB:M to 10Mb (will need a change to cable modem for broadband, if it's not already set up that way), the only difference between no longer available M, and the current L broadband, is a lower STM quota and a slightly lower cost.
