No reason why this wouldn't have been done before, it's very similar to a normal hair transplant.

I wonder if she has to trim them? Or do the hairs realise that that they should only grow to the accepted length of an eye lash?
I guess she could braid them if they got long enough.

If it is the same as a transplant then the new hair takes on the charasteristics of the original hair.

Interesting.  I have heard of hair transplants but always thought they were just from one area of the head to another.
My mind is working overtime wondering where hair is taken from, to put where, that would involve it changing it's characteristics.
