Virgin EPG Changes - Transparency

Just wanted to check if anyone else had noticed this the last few days or whether I've just changed a setting on the box without realising it... The mini EPG on my V+ box has now gone partially transparent and the main menu is significantly darker and less defined than before (even if I turn the contrast up to full on my TV). Also no matter whether I'm watching a live or recorded programme there is now a blue bar superimposed across the bottom of the screen inviting me to press Yellow to view On Demand which I cant seem to turn off..

Are these changes across the board or just something that I could have turned on accidentally on my box (and if so how do I turn the transparency and blue bar off)?

to be honest i would quit like to have a setting to have the new and next bar transparent the black now and next bar is just nasty on a 40inch tv as its just too big , setting it to either being transparent or smaller would be quit nice little feature and the alternative now and next bar is worse than the black one lol

Re: Virgin EPG Changes - Transparency

Cheers Gadge, the old switching it off and on again approach (should have remembered that from my old tech support days) did the trick for both the transparency and persistent blue bar. Better testing procedures needed for the V+ software updates before they roll them out methinks.

If you set it to 720/1080 in the settings menu it looks much better than when its set to 720wide/1080wide.

Re: Virgin EPG Changes - Transparency

Glad I found this. Mine went transparent just this past week and it affected all menus - making them difficult to read. I didn't mind the mini bar a problem, just everything else. Would be nice to be albe to set transparency on the mini menu.

Anyway, a reboot fixed it so glad for the advice.
