TV-Choice on demand gone.

I'm on the medium tv package and it was working fine yesterday, now I get a message saying I need to subscribe to use this service, so I phoned up and they said they have removed the service from the medium and large packages, is this right?

Seems a bit silly for them to cut this service when they advertise watch what you like when you like etc.

I think they were offering TV choice as a free trial. It does say on the website that you need to pay for it on those packages. The Catch Up stuff should be free though.

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

Well I've been on the medium package for TV for around 4 months and on demand has always worked fine, even now they are advertising it as part of the medium pack.

http://allyours.virginmedia.com/webs...ct.do?id=11169

"Virgin TV on demand where you can choose from a massive library of films, TV, music to watch whenever you like"

The catch up still works just tv choice on demand, it won't even let you buy anything.

Edit: Just found this.

TV Choice on demand - Included with TV Size: XL, available for £7 a month with TV Size: M and L
Complete series to watch at your leisure - you can even watch them all in one go! Includes favourites for everyone such as Grey's Anatomy, The Sopranos, Life on Mars, Postman Pat and Planet Earth.

Nice of them to advertise the change :o

TV choice is an optional part of on-demand, but it is not the whole thing. The Catch Up is the only part that is free on the medium package.

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

TV Choice on Demand has always been an extra £7/month for TV M and L customers. There has been no change for them to advertise and the website has always said that....Maybe a bug in the system meant you received it for free?

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

God knows, all I know is that I've been using it for the last 4-5 months on the medium package, was just wondering why it suddenly came up with the you have to subscribe message.

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

Some M and L customers had been getting TVCOD for free due to an error. It's now been corrected.

Virgin Central should still be available to you.

Unhappy Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

Thanks for not telling us VM.

I've been receiving TV choice on demand for at least a year and yesterday (20th May) it was gone! I rang up and was told there was an error on the network or an issue with a server which allowed us poor size M TV watchers to view it. The operator apologised and I said I was annoyed about this error - apparently it has affected quite a lot of people. Now a new server is online and TV choice has gone!

I didn't even realise I wasn't supposed to receive the service. Not worth another 7 quid a month though.

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

I had it for about a year then it went off about two months ago. I posted on the newsgroup about it and was told it had been an error on VM's part and I would have to subscribe to it. Same as a lot of people, I don't think its worth the extra money.

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

virginmedia have been updating software overnight area by area this has resulted in hits being sent after the software is installed to make sure services paid for are correct. Unfortunately for some this has resulted in a large amount of people receiving channels and services they did not subscribe to have now lost them.

Rather than look at it as a service lost look at it in another way you have received services free off charge for a period of time

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

Yeah i am on the tv large package and now can't get it but also don't think it is worth an extra £7 a month to have it back. Whats really peed me off is that fx is now only for the XL package i wish they would just set the channels to packages and keep it that way. If their idea is to try and tempt you into subscribing to the higher packages then it isn't working because when you have a channel and lose it your angry not in the mood to give them more money [RANT OVER].

No this wasn't a one month freeview thing we have had it from the start but on the 24th it is being switched to XL only.

Re: TV-Choice on demand gone.

It's always been in XL only (apart from when it's put on as free to view and a message will say as such)

If you get it any other time it is a technical error
