Epson R285

Hi,

Am having problems with my printer Epson R285 with a CIS.

Have been away for a couple of days, was working perfectly fine, I come home today and it's, well not working. When I try and print something it will just roll through a sheet with nothing on it apart from a couple of smatterings of ink. Clean the heads, done that about 4 times now didn't help, re-aligned the print heads, didn't work. Nozzle check patterns only show a couple of tiny faint lines being printed.

SSC reset utility has no support for my printer, running out of idea's now.

Raise the CIS unit so the ink outlet pipes is about 1 inch above the level of the printheads and leave it for a few hours, that should allow the ink to flow into the carts easier. Then try the printer.

If that fails, clean, leave for a few hours, clean, leave for a few hours.. etc. until it either starts to work, or you get fed up and throw the printer away.

Unfortunately, Epson printers tend to block up far to easily unless you use them very regularly, and there's nothing much you can really do once that happens.

I did the latter, well sort of as I put it on Ebay. Sadly not got the time for a lot of testing, only got the printer because a relative give me it for £20 so not really lost anything, hopefully will get that back on Ebay.

Thanks for the suggestion though, will take note incase it doesn't sell.
