Throughput issue

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me as I'm really at the end of my tether. Have been with VM for about 3 years and for the last 4 months, I've had nothing but trouble. I'm connected to the Uddingston Exchange and my throughput is rediculous. The most I've had is 10Mb on speedtests (various) and I must average around 3-5Mb. This is not at peak times, this is constantly throughout the day.

My pings are fine, even at peak times and trace routes seem to be fine through command prompt. I've used wireless and ethernet, a netgear router and also plugged directly into the Cable modem. I'm sick of customer services and also their lies, I phoned up on the 20th April and was told there were no issues, she didnt understand what slow throughout meant aswell. I then called back and spoke with someone who said there is an issue at my exchange which would be fixed by the 27th April. Guess what? It's still the same

I've had a new router aswell (it's the compact one, don't have the model number as I'm not at home sorry) and the signal levels seem fine the last time I called. I'm also running 2 computers (*WinXP, Win7 Beta) and BOTH have the same throughput issue. Not wanting to speak with them again (since I need to dismantle my own router so they can ping) I was hoping maybe some of you guys have any advice?

Best bet mate is to post on the newsgroup they are normally very good but it ounds like a classic case of overloaded UBR again.

Think I'll do that then mate. I'm not back from work till about 6 so I'll give them a whirl.
