Does anyone know of any good companies offering free web hosting sevices, as I find the virgin media webspace very restrictive.

If you want more flexibility and want to keep some form of reliability you'd be better off getting a cheap £1.99/month package from somewhere. Free web hosts are often slow or throw ads at your visitors, or just not reliable at all.
